Launch EaseUS MobiMover on your PC and click 'HEIC to JPG' on the navigation panel. Click 'Browse' to select and add one or multiple HEIC photos from your PC. You can also drag and drop to import HEIC photos to EaseUS MobiMover here. Click 'Convert' or 'Start All' to convert HEIC photos to JPG. Next, go to Settings - Photos and scroll down to 'Transfer to Mac or PC'. Change the setting to 'Keep Originals'. After you do both of these, take another picture and then try to Airdrop it to your Mac. The Mac should receive the jpg version of the picture. I'm not sure if this will work with pictures taken prior to changing the Camera settings.
When you have the HEIC-formatted image on your Mac, open it in the Preview app (open Preview and choose Export from the File Menu. Here you will see the native HEIC format is selected. Change the Format to JPEG, and select where to save the new file to.
On the latest Samsung Galaxy smartphones such as the S20, S10 or S9 series, photos taken with the camera are saved in an optimized file format. This is the so-called HEIF image format.
HEIF stands for 'High Efficiency Image File Format' and reduces the image size while maintaining the same quality. Now it is the case that the HEIF format is not yet supported by all devices and operating systems, which is why they prefer to take pictures in JPEG format.
